Darfield arrest: Police find large stash of drugs after driver flees on wrong side of road

Irvine said police followed at a distance and located the alleged offender’s home address, where they found skid marks over the gravel driveway and the vehicle parked out back – with the engine and tyres still hot.

“A search of the vehicle uncovered the large amount of drugs, before more specialist staff and a police dog unit assisted of a further search of the property.

“As a result, police seized three cannabis plants, with LSD, 500g of cocaine, steroids, a box of .22 and shotgun ammunition and a high-powered taser.”

A 40-year-old man was arrested and was due to appear in the Christchurch District Court today facing 12 charges, including:
