The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station has released an advisory update stating that at-risk missing person, Robert Scott Silva has been located, thanks the public and media for their efforts.
“Thank you to the public, the media, Aero Bureau, and deputy personnel for their tireless efforts in the search for Mr. Silva,” reads a post by LASD WeHo.
“Great news! After three days of searching, we finally found Scott safe in a hospital, getting the care he needs,” friend Steve Springer told WEHO TIMES, “I got several calls from concerned citizens. It feels so great to hear from members of the community who genuinely care.”
Springer credits Detective Jennifer Valenzuela at the West Hollywood Sherrif’s Department “for being so caring and kind and jumped right into action,” he said. “She was able to gives us a search area from a ping in his phone. We set out on foot and stumbled upon a hospital and the staff was kind enough to confirm Scott’s safety. This experience really makes you feel thankful for the good people in our community, still being happy to jump to the support of strangers.”

Friends of a longtime West Hollywood resident are asking for the public’s help in locating a 55-year-old man who has been missing for three nights and is believed to be experiencing a bipolar manic episode.
Scott Silva was last seen Sunday, June 29, in West Hollywood, according to a missing person flyer distributed by friends. Silva, a longtime resident who lives near Fountain Avenue and Laurel Avenue, may be in need of medical attention.
Friends said Silva has experienced manic episodes before but has always received medical treatment. They now fear he may be unable to find his way home on his own.
“This has happened before, but outside of this he’s just a regular guy who doesn’t party or even drink,” said Steve Springer, a friend of more than 30 years. “He rarely leaves West Hollywood except to go to work in Beverly Hills.”
Springer said he and his husband have spent the past several days driving through West Hollywood searching for Silva.
“We’re hoping someone recognizes him and can help us get him the medical care he needs,” he said.
According to friends, Silva works in Beverly Hills and is typically highly functional when he is not experiencing a mental health crisis.
The disappearance has underscored how quickly a mental health condition can become a medical emergency, Springer said.
“It’s really scary how a regular, high-functioning person’s life can so quickly turn into a mental health crisis,” he said.
A missing person report has been filed with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and Silva’s friends said they have remained in daily contact with the West Hollywood security ambassadors, who have been assisting in the search.
According to the missing person flyer, Silva is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 165 pounds and has brown hair with gray and brown eyes. Friends say he may be wandering the streets of West Hollywood.
