Get ready to send it as Hooligan Hefs makes his debut in the Like A Version studio, covering Linkin Park’s iconic 2003 hit, ‘Numb’.
The Western Sydney rapper – known for his unmatched blend of gabber and drill – took inspiration from the ‘Numb/Encore’ remix from Linkin Park and Jay-Z’s 2004 mash-up EP, Collision Course, spitting his own bars over the nu-metal riffs and hooks.
“The bars just come naturally,” Hefs said.
“I just talk how life is now. Just keeping it real, no façade, just straightforward and pushing a good message. Growth, ambition and chasing goals. Just be yourself.”
Laying down a Like A Version cover isn’t the only first that Hooligan Hefs encountered in the studio – it was also the first time he’s played with more than just a DJ backing him.
“If I’m being completely honest this is actually my first time playing with a whole band performing for the cameras live,” he said.
“At the start I was a bit nervous, but once we started flowing into it, we got there. Obviouslty professional, but to see a live band there – on some rockstar type stuff.”
