The vehicle was seized, and a subsequent search uncovered more than $1000 in cash, several phones and about 130g of methamphetamine, Keenleyside said.
Keenleyside thanked the members of the public who alerted police.
A 30-year-old man has been remanded on bail and is to appear in the Rotorua District Court on July 9, charged with possession of utensils. Further charges are being considered.
