Ed Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, were hilariously likened to the famous movie duo Dumb and Dumber after their radiant outfits at Taylor Swift’s wedding.
On Friday, June 3, the Irish singer was spotted hand-in-hand with his partner as they arrived at the upscale hotel Fouquet’s in New York City. For the evening, Ed was seen rocking a bright cyan suit, while his wife Seaborn opted for a yolk yellow long dress.
These eccentric outfit choices were swiftly compared to the two non-genius best friends, Dumb and Dumber, from the hit 1994 film, as they wore near-identical outfits in the movie. The pair were spotted in the Big Apple as they are expected to be in attendance at Taylor Swift’s star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Dumb and Dumber is a classic 1994 American slapstick buddy comedy film directed by the Farrelly brothers. The movie stars actors Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as two good-natured but clueless friends who go on a cross-country road trip to return a briefcase full of ransom money.
On X, one user shared side-by-side photos of Ed and his wife alongside the characters, prompting a string of comments from fans, many of whom shared their distaste for the look. One critic wrote, “They look like a fresh pack of highlighters.”

Another critic added, “I know he wouldn’t wear that unless she was okay with it, but WHAT?”
While a third person wrote, “Omg I would kick him out of my wedding. Why didn’t she set a dress code? My god!”
A fourth critic piled in, “Ed… respectfully no! Go change!!!!”
While many were not fond of Ed’s outfit choice, many were ecstatic to see that he was invited to the ceremony and that his friendship with Taylor is still going strong.

While a third posted, “The whole artist is turning up, Taylor really is the industry sweetheart.”
This comes as Ed and Taylor have shared a 14-year-long friendship in the public eye. Over the years, the pair have collaborated on a number of songs together and have said that they consider one another “like family.” As photos of Ed circulated online, many fans also speculated that he could be performing at the ceremony, along with Stevie Knicks and Tim McGraw.
