Sabrina Carpenter’s attendance at Taylor Swift’s wedding has resurfaced a viral photo that highlighted their height difference.
The image, which showed the two out for dinner in 2025, went viral when fans edited an image in which Sabrina looked diminutive next to Swift.
While the image was real, the perspective and footwear slightly distorted their height, and in real life, the difference is almost as dramatic.
Taylor Swift is 5’10 or 178cm tall, and Sabrina Carpenter is 4’11 or 150cm tall. The height difference has become a running joke in their friendship.
Sabrina Carpenter’s presence at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded Madison Square Garden wedding has officially resurfaced one of the internet’s favourite viral pop-culture moments — their striking height difference and a viral photo.
The fixation dates back to November 2023, when Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter were spotted heading out for dinner in New York City. A paparazzi shot of the Short n’ Sweet pop star walking just ahead of Swift was so visually jarring it looked AI-generated.
A meme quickly began circulating online with the caption: “The fact that this picture isn’t even edited still baffles me lmao.” Commenting on the extreme visual contrast, pop culture account Girlyzar captioned its post: “Taylor really pulled up with Sabrina set to 0.75 scale.” The image is, of course, fractionally altered and a lesson in AI literacy for all of us, but the in the original, the difference is almost as stark.
In the viral photograph, Swift is positioned slightly in the foreground, wearing a Thom Browne mini skirt paired with towering 6-inch Gucci horsebit loafers, pushing her statuesque 5’10” frame past the 6’2” mark. Meanwhile, Carpenter was captured walking a half-step behind, in black Pedro García satin kitten heels, creating an admittedly bizarre distortion. But, their height difference is only a little less dramatic in real life and has become a running joke.

Taylor Swift And Sabrina Carpenter’s Height Difference
The height gap has long been a running joke among fans. When Carpenter first joined the Eras Tour as an opening act, a viral YouTube fan video with the caption: “HELP I thought Taylor invited a child on stage.“
The duo even leaned into the comedy at the 2022 American Music Awards. When Carpenter presented Swift with the Favourite Music Video award for her All Too Well short film, Swift playfully patted Carpenter on the head after sharing a celebratory hug.

Carpenter has historically leaned into her petite stature, transforming it into a core pillar of her personal brand. She frequently deadpans to journalists when facing repetitive questions about her height. During an appearance on Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Chicken Shop Date, she deadpanned: “People think I’m super short, but I’m actually 6’1”.“ And, in her hit single “Taste”, Carpenter sings: “Oh, I leave quite an impression / Five feet to be exact.”
