More than 1000 Tauranga customers are without power after a tree brought down lines on Ōropi Rd this afternoon.

A Powerco spokesperson said the outage was reported at 2.18pm after a tree fell on power lines, initially affecting 1004 customers.

Properties in Ōhauiti, Ōropi, Poike and Parkvale were impacted.
