Meruelo Media has moved “Cali 93.9” KLLI Los Angeles from Spanish CHR to a bilingual AC music approach. The change took place just before the three-day 4th of July weekend with a new positioning statement of “Exitos Para Nosotros,” which translates to “Hits for Us” and a playlist of popular songs from a mix of mainstream and Latin AC artists.

A sample hour of music featured Prince “I Would Die 4 U,” Fuerza Regida & Grupo Frontera “Me Jalo,” Oasis, “Wonderwall,” Beyonce “Crazy in Love,” Bobby Brown “Every Little Step,” Elvis Crespo “Suavemente,” Earth, Wind & Fire “September,” Mariah Carey “Fantasy,” Wisin & Yandel “Llame Pa’ Verte,” Pointer Sisters “I’m So Excited,” Ini Kamoze “Here Come The Hotstepper,” and Katrina & The Waves “Walking on Sunshine.”

The station debuted in July 2019 after Meruelo closed on its $35 million purchase of then-KXOS from 93.9 Holdings/Grupo Radio Centro. “Cali 93.9” was the 2021 Marconi Award winner for Spanish Language Station of the Year.

The station’s lineup includes Angelica Vale, a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, radio, TV, film, and theater entertained. Vale inked a three-year contract extension in January 2025. At press time the station’s website has been wiped of all air talent.
