Man critical after being stabbed in Auckland’s Avondale, second man arrested

“He was transported to Auckland City Hospital where he is in a critical but stable condition.”

A Hato Hone St John spokesman said the ambulance service was called at 9.50pm, sending an ambulance, a rapid response unit and an operations manager. One patient was taken to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition.

A 35-year-old man was also located at the scene and arrested, Baldwin said. He was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The man would appear in Auckland District Court today, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A scene examination would be completed at the forecourt today, and inquiries into the initial altercation were continuing.
