A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Tokoroa last month.

Taupō area investigations manager, Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Yardley, said police were called to a Hinau St property shortly before midnight on June 18 where a woman was found unresponsive.

Yardley
said she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police today named her as 47-year-old Michelle Tangimataiti of Tokoroa.
