Anderson became Dior’s lead creative last year, when he replaced Maria Grazia Chiuri. Before joining the French fashion house, he spent more than a decade at Spanish label Loewe, where he served as creative director from 2013 until March 2025.
Swift became the first celebrity to wear a couture wedding gown designed by the fashion house’s creative director, who manages the women’s, men’s and haute couture divisions, according to Swift’s publicist.
Haute couture literally translates to “high dressmaking”, referring to the creation of one-off, custom-fitted, high-end fashion.
Swift and Kelce exchanged vows at a lavish celebration held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Despite international interest, images from the ceremony have not been released, leaving only guests with first-hand insight into the designs worn at the celebrity wedding.
Jonathan Anderson became Dior’s creative director in June 2025, stepping into the position previously held by Maria Grazia Chiuri.
A significant security operation was put in place around the venue, the Guardian reported, with 11 streets shut down and temporary structures erected along the perimeter of the restricted zone to prevent fans from gathering or photographing arrivals and departures.
According to the New York Times, securing permits for an event of this size – particularly one requiring multiple road closures – can cost up to US$66,000 ($115,000) per day.
The New York City permitting office authorised up to 1000 people in the stadium, according to documents obtained by the Associated Press.
