“What does feel important is that we can genuinely say that we are sitting here today with immense gratitude for so many things that have happened to us.
“It doesn’t negate the injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years.”
It comes after Baldoni and Lively settled the lawsuit she brought against him on May 4 (local time), a fortnight before the case was set to go to court.
Lively is reportedly seeking US$8 million ($14m) in fees and costs that resulted from the legal battle.
A federal judge had previously thrown out 10 of Lively’s 13 claims, including allegations of sexual misconduct.
“We’ve had to wrestle with so many things, and try to understand so many things like … how could something like this even happen? Let alone disguised as a fight for women,” Emily Baldoni continued in the video.
“The truth is, the reality is there’s been a lot of trauma for us to move through as a family, which also makes it hard to speak.”
Justin Baldoni added: “What I will say is that there have been so many painful things that have been spoken to existence over the last couple of years, and that created so much noise.
“We didn’t want to add to the noise. So we just wanted to let the justice system run its course.”

Justin Baldoni thanked those that stood with him during the two-year drama which played out publicly online, saying “we feel so loved”.
“There were so many of you who, when we didn’t have a voice, were our voice.”
The couple said they are now focusing on healing, their faith and spending time with their family.
“We have had to rethink for ourselves what is real and what matters,” Justin Baldoni said. “And it’s this. It’s the kids. It’s our family. It’s our friends. It’s our community who’ve been there for us. It’s our faith. I think we’re closer and more devoted and steadfast in our faith than we’ve ever been.”
Lively sued Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios in December 2024 over allegations of sexual harassment, hostile work environment and a “smear campaign” against her.
Baldoni denied the claims and hit back with a countersuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation and distortion. Baldoni’s countersuit was dismissed by a judge in June 2025.
In her lawsuit, Lively accused Baldoni of making inappropriate comments about her, crossing boundaries during a love scene and pushed for nudity during the filming of It Ends With Us.
Baldoni has denied the allegations.
