If you own a Google Pixel smartphone, then you might want to check if your device is eligible for the latest software patch from Google. The company recently announced the roll-out of its July 2026 software update for all Tensor-powered Pixel devices running Android 17.
That said, the update is available for several Pixel phones including the Pixel 6 series, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 series, Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series. This also includes all Pixel Fold models, A-series devices, as well as the Pixel Tablet.
According to Google, the update comes with system stability fixes and user interface refinements, including a fix that resolves a framework flaw which caused some devices to lock up in an endless boot loop or fail to load the Android operating system entirely. Additionally, developers have patched an ongoing framework issue where system widgets were rendering with incorrect color and contrast settings, alongside a separate bug that caused certain applications to crash or fail to launch.
The update also brings new visual and interface improvements, including a a fix for a layout bug that caused the navigation buttons to lose alignment after folding and unfolding the screen. Users will also get a fix which addressed a flaw in the wallpaper system, ensuring that the wallpaper shape effect properly sits in the background rather than incorrectly masking the foreground subject.
