HarmonyOS 7 will be the next software iteration for Huawei devices, and one of the app updates now reveals what the new version will bring to smartwatches. The wearables will become more convenient and efficient for users with the new build.

The company has recently upgraded its AI Life app to version 17.0.3.312, unlocking some significant features. However, the highlight of this new build is a sneak peek into HarmonyOS 7 features for Huawei smartwatches.

Per the app changelog, it can now quickly detect devices’ offline status as well as locate newly added services. It further brings a “multi-device management” module for wearables. This segment drops clues on HarmonyOS 7 features.

Under the Multi-device Management section, clicking on the Watch tab opens a list of new features that will debut with HarmonyOS 7. The first one is that wearables like the Ultimate and Digital series can view and control smart home products.

For instance, users can control lighting effects for desktop lamps and smart speakers right through their watches. They can add smart plugs, AC adapters, light bulbs, desk lamps, and other devices to support the watch.

Earlier, these functions were available to Huawei smartphones. But the tech giant is bringing new capabilities to its wrist gadgets for a more convenient experience.

After upgrading to HarmonyOS 7, Huawei watches can also manage presets accordingly. Presets refer to modes or routines that automatically adjust the wearable’s behavior, watch face, and notification management as per a user’s ongoing activity.

The app doesn’t reveal any other features for Huawei smartwatches. Though the changelog says:

“Enjoy seamless home control from your wrist, and say goodbye to cumbersome operations. Quickly view and control your smart home devices, and execute preset scenes with a single click.”
