As the sun beams down on London this weekend, thousands of revellers will easily walk the streets unnoticed wearing bucket hats to escape the scorching rays. But, to those in the know, the humble bucket hat is the apparel of choice for many fans of Lewis Capaldi – the Scottish singer-songwriter supremo ready to crown London’s top music festival.
Yes, Lewis Capaldi may be the highlight of this year’s BST Hyde Park, headlining West London’s biggest music extravaganza for not just one, but two nights on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12 – with tickets completely sold out.
The double whammy promises to be a grand finale for BST Hyde Park presents, with impressive setlists and support acts for both days. Here, we look at everything fans can look forward to.
Who is Lewis Capaldi?

Lewis Capaldi was born in Glasgow in October 1996, the youngest of four children, and grew up in Whitburn, West Lothian. He showed an early aptitude for music and began performing in local pubs, sometimes smuggled in by his older brother. He uploaded songs recorded in his bedroom to Soundcloud, which attracted the attention of his US manager Ryan Walter. His first single, ‘Bruises’ was released independently in March 2017 and amassed 25 million downloads on Spotify, a record for an unsigned artist.
Capaldi quickly signed on with Universal Music Group, and he supported singer-songwriters Rag’n’Bone Man and Jake Bugg on their 2017 tours, and was the support act for Niall Horan and Sam Smith the following year. His EP ‘Breach’ released at the end of 2018, featured the singles ‘Touch’, ‘Someone You Loved’ and ‘Grace’.
Capaldi was on tour with Bastille when ‘Someone You Loved’ reached the number one spot in the UK singles chart and stayed there for seven weeks, while also topping the US billboard 100 – the first Scottish artist to do so since Sheena Easton. The Breach tracks were included in his debut album ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Heavenly Extent’, which also the number 4 single ‘Hold Me While You Wait. The album spent five weeks at number one and was the biggest selling UK album in five years.

Saturday
BST Hyde Park on Saturday kicks off with British-Belgian singer-songwriter Benjamin Steer on the Rainbow Stage at 2.40pm, while fellow singer Sebastian Croft takes the Birdcage Stage at the same time, both for half-hour sets.
Female singer Absolutely, known for her fantasy-inspired lyrics, takes to The Great Oak Stage at 3.10pm, followed by up-and-coming Scottish singer Luke La Volpe on the Birdcage Stage at 3.40pm and Danish indie-rockers Neckbreakers on the Rainbow Stage also at 3.40pm.
Special guest Jacob Alon will perform on the Great Oak Stage at 4.10pm, followed by singer Luz on the Birdcage Stage and Tyler Ballgame on the Rainbow Stage, both at 4.50pm. Special guests The Vaccines will take over the Great Oak Stage at 5.20pm for a 45-minute set, while at 6.05pm, Kerr Mercer and Nieve Ella will take to the Birdcage Stage and Rainbow Stage respectively.
The major support act of the night, Conan Gray, will perform on the Great Oak Stage for a one-hour set at 6.50pm, to be followed by Lewis Capaldi at 8.50pm for a 90-minute concert.
Sunday
London-based grunge-pop artist Beattie will open on the Rainbow Stage at 2.30pm, while Hampshire indie folk singer Luke Hart opens on the Birdcage Stage at the same time.
Absolutely will return on Sunday for another set on the Great Oak Stage at 3pm, while pop band Mark Sharp & The Bicycle Thieve take the Birdcage Stage at 3.30pm, and singer Murdo Mitchell performs on the Rainbow Stage also at 3.30pm.
Special guest Jacob Alon is back on the Greak Oak Stage at 4pm, while US indie singer Ber takes the Birdcage Stage at 4.30pm and Folk B*tch Trio simultaneously take the Rainbow Stage. English singer-songwriter Alessi Rose performs on the Great Oak Stage at 5.10pm, and then US singer Alexandra Savior rocks on the Rainbow Stage at 5.50pm just as fellow US performer Sadie Jean hits the Birdcage Stage.
Support act Conan Gray is back on the Great Oak Stage for a one-hour performance at 6.30pm, while Lewis Capaldi hits the stage at 8.25pm for a 90-minute set.

Jacob Alon is one of the most ethereal singer-songwriters to emerge from the UK in recent years, with hauntingly evocative vocals and songs laced with fantasy. Alon rose to prominence after releasing the single Fairy In A Bottle in 2024 and quickly boosted his profile with performances on Later With Jools Holland, becoming the first Scottish act to be named BBC Introducing Artist Of The Year.
Conan Gray is a 21st century singer-songwriter influenced by the 1970s and 80s sounds of David Bowie, Elton John, and A-ha, who built up his following from scratch with uploads on Youtube while still a teenager, finally achieving mainstream success in 2017 when his self-published song “Idle Town” went viral. His 2020 debut studio album “Kid Krow” peaked at number 5 on the US Billboard 200, supported by the popularity of its lead single “Heather”.

Tickets are completely sold out for Lewis Capaldi’s two concerts at BST Hyde Park on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, supported by Jacob Alon and Conan Gray, although a smattering of resale tickets may become available from vendors such as AXS Official Resale or Ticketmaster. Tickets are often resold as a last resort on the day of concerts, so disappointed fans should keep a watchful eye for any sudden offers.

Viagogo and resale tickets
Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs.
