While many of the top phone producers of today are consistently pushing out phones costing upwards of £1,000, many of these come with a variety of features that most phone users won’t pay much mind to. Fortunately, Android users who want to upgrade their phone can do so for just £100 while still getting access to many benefits common with Samsung devices.
Currently, Amazon has included the Samsung Galaxy A16 in a 28% sale, dropping the price from £139 to £100, making an already affordable phone much more affordable. Shoppers should act quickly to take advantage of the deal, though, as Amazon has marked it as ‘selling fast’, with the deal itself running out on July 21.
The phone currently on offer comes in a Blue Black colour, with other colour options being offered at a slightly higher price, including a Light Green and Light Grey colourway. For such a low price, users will get access to various modern smartphone features.

For example, the Samsung Galaxy A16 comes with a Super AMOLED 6.7-inch display, which is capable of displaying true deep blacks and vibrant colours with stellar detail. Meanwhile, the rear-end of the camera comes equipped with three cameras, something not even available on some more expensive smartphones, such as the iPhone 17 and 17e.
This includes a 50MP Main Camera, 5MP Ultra Wide Camera for landscape shots, and a 2MP Macro Camera for close-up shots. Despite being an older model released in 2024, Samsung has promised that it will receive six years of OS upgrades and security patches, ensuring its software will last until at least 2030.
However, if you would prefer something slightly newer, you could instead opt for the Google Pixel 10a, which has been reduced on Amazon from £499 to £429. This budget Google Pixel phone can supply up to 30 hours of battery life and comes equipped with the latest version of Android’s software alongside 128GB of internal storage.

If you would prefer an iPhone, you could opt for this refurbished iPhone 14, which is available on Wowcher, reduced from £399 to £239. This iPhone comes with 128GB of internal storage and is offered in a ‘fair condition’, which means it will have visible signs of wear and tear, such as scratches, but should still operate as expected.
Shoppers who already grabbed the Samsung Galaxy A16 awarded it 4.5-stars on Amazon, with one happy customer writing: “Bought this phone for my young son. Wanted a good phone but not spend hundreds of pounds. It is a great phone. Brand new and decent storage capacity. Battery life is really good too and apps are speedy when in use. Appearance is great and the phone feels well built and durable. This phone has everything a young kid should need.”
Another said: “Absolutely superb phone with everything you would need in a modern up to date form…fast response, great battery life, loads of space and clear defined graphics…also a fantastic camera with a multitude of iterations. Brilliant price for a lot of tech. Just buy it.”

A third said: “I have a 4-year-old Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Bought this one to use, while the other is sent away to get it fixed – probably battery replacement. The A16 is significantly slower; however, it is an absolutely great value for the money. Highly recommend as it is a very capable phone. All applications running on it that I use and more than enough on a day-to-day basis.”
A fourth added: “Best phone ever. Have had quite a few smartphones over the years and this one is by far the best. Easy to set up, clear instructions for switching data from the old phone. The list of attributes is, in my opinion, endless. My search for a top-class phone is over.”
However, one less pleased customer said: “Speed was okay, the clock alarm works when it wants to, not when you want it to, okay as a first phone for a child, but not for an adult.”
While another said: “Nice and easy phone to set up, especially when you are old fuddy duddy like me. I actually thought I would have launched the phone, but no. Only criticism is the fact that there we no charger cable only a data cable with no usb connector.”
