Samsung shared the first official details about its next Galaxy Watch ahead of its annual Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22. The company says it will unveil a new smartwatch designed to deliver more personalized AI-powered health insights. The announcement offers an early look at Samsung’s vision for wearable AI and hints at several hardware improvements coming with the new smart watch.

Samsung said that the next Galaxy Watch is built to serve as a “health-first, always-on gateway for advanced, personalized AI.” The company said the smartwatch features new internal components, improved battery life and AI-driven wellness insights designed to help users better understand and proactively manage their health throughout the day.

Samsung also said the upcoming Galaxy Watch will continuously monitor health metrics in the background and allow users to experience “a whole new level of effortless wellness.” The company added that simply wearing the watch is enough to unlock more comprehensive health tracking thanks to enhanced AI capabilities and longer-lasting battery performance.

While Samsung has not revealed the complete specifications, additional details have surfaced through recent reporting. According to Android Authority, citing information first reported by WinFuture, Samsung is expected to introduce both the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 during the July 22 event.

Android Authority reports the Galaxy Watch 9 will likely be available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, with the smaller model expected to feature a 438-by-438 display and the larger version a 480-by-480 display. The publication also reports the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could receive a larger 800mAh battery, titanium construction and water resistance up to 100 meters.

The report also claims Samsung’s upcoming watches will support Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and dual-band Wi-Fi while running Wear OS 7 with One UI Watch 9. Depending on the model, storage is expected to reach up to 64GB alongside as much as 2GB of RAM, though Samsung has not confirmed those specifications.

Samsung is expected to reveal official pricing, availability and preorder information during Galaxy Unpacked 2026. Until then, those interested in Samsung’s wearable lineup can browse the current Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, both of which already offer AI-powered wellness features including Energy Score, sleep coaching and advanced health tracking.
