“The man was allegedly eating food from the home while packing property into his backpack.
“When confronted by the occupant, a physical altercation ensued.”
The man then fled the property on foot.
Albrey said police units, including an Eagle helicopter, were sent to follow the alleged offender as he ran through neighbouring properties and jumped fences.
He was found on nearby Hall Ave and arrested and is due to appear in Manukau District Court today.
