Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the film is being developed as a theatrical horror experience aimed at couples and moviegoers looking for a spine-chilling outing. The makers are eyeing a 2027 theatrical release.

London schedule kicks off production

According to Variety India, the overseas shoot marks the beginning of principal photography, with additional filming planned across multiple locations in the coming months. While the makers are keeping the storyline tightly under wraps, ‘Ragini 3’ is expected to stay true to the franchise’s trademark mix of supernatural scares, suspense and commercial entertainment.This will also be Tamannaah’s first association with the ‘Ragini’ universe, making her the newest face to headline the long-running horror series.

Horror continues to dominate the box office

The return of ‘Ragini’ comes at a time when horror films are enjoying renewed popularity in Indian cinemas. The ‘Ragini’ franchise first arrived in cinemas with ‘Ragini MMS’ in 2011. Directed by Pawan Kripalani, the film starred Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala and quickly became a surprise hit.Its success paved the way for ‘Ragini MMS 2’ in 2014, directed by Bhushan Patel and headlined by Sunny Leone, alongside Parvin Dabas, Sandhya Mridul and Divya Dutta.
