HSV Brush Strokes Art Club will welcome nationally recognized Hot Springs artist Jamie Craddock at its meeting Friday.
Craddock, a self-taught artist who works primarily with watercolors and ink, will demonstrate the process for creating her mixed media artworks. For the past several years she has expanded her use of those mediums to include mixed media, a news release said.
“She has traveled extensively across the country, visiting our national parks and public lands, and loves to paint the beauty of the mountains, waterfalls, rivers and streams,” it said. “She has been an artist-in-residence at many of the parks, including Hot Springs National Park.”
According to the release, Craddock’s travels inspired a series of mixed media paintings of the national parks. These works, along with an extensive series on bourbon, are painted on vintage dictionary pages.
Many of her bourbon works have been produced for Kentucky distilleries. She also creates pieces on vintage sheet music and maps.
“For the past three years, Craddock’s work has been selected for ‘Art Moves,’ an annual outdoor exhibition sponsored by the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance,” the release said.
Craddock said in the release when she paints, “the world around me goes away and I am totally at peace with myself.”

Brush Strokes meets the fourth Friday of each month at 10 a.m. in Room 6 of Coronado Community Center in Hot Springs Village. Meetings are open to the public.
