The Cowboys have been dealt a blow on the eve of the Queensland derby with Tom Dearden ruled out with a leg injury.
The halfback only made his return from a serious ankle injury last weekend, but he has picked up another ankle injury, this time to the other leg.
While the Cowboys are yet to confirm Dearden’s replacement, it’s likely centre Jaxon Purdue will shift back to the halves. Liam Sutton is also in the reserves and could come into the side if Todd Payten opts for a like-for-like replacement.
The loss of David Fifita to suspension and Cameron Murray and Tallis Duncan to injury has forced the Rabbitohs into a major reshuffle ahead of their crucial clash with the Storm.
Goalkicking centre Latrell Siegwalt lines up for his career seventh game while Lachlan Hubner starts at lock and Liam Le Blanc is also set for a call-up.

Rabbitohs: Skipper Cameron Murray (calf), back-rower David Fifita (suspension) and centre Tallis Duncan (hamstring) are all sidelined so there’s a major reshuffle required. Lachlan Hubner the new lock, Latrell Siegwalt is back in the centres after playing NSW Cup last week and John Radel has been called into the starting side. Utility Jayden Sullivan returns from concussion on the bench while Bronson Garlick and Thomas Fletcher are the new faces on the six-man bench.
Storm: Gun playmaker Jahrome Hughes missed just one game with a hamstring injury and looks set to return to partner Tyran Wishart in the halves. “He hasn’t done much for a couple of weeks so we’ll just see how he goes today [Thursday] and we’ll go from there,” coach Craig Bellamy said of Hughes. The season-ending Achilles injury to Will Warbrick sees Moses Leo come in on the wing after missing the Roosters game due to illness. No changes in Thursday’s 24-hour update.

Raiders: Back-rower Noah Martin suffered a quad strain at training on Thursday afternoon and has come out of the side. His place is taken by Englishman Matty Nicholson in his first appearance of 2026 after shoulder surgery. Vena Patuki-Case is the new man on the bench. With Owen Pattie serving a one-game suspension, Tom Starling starts the game at hooker and Jayden Brailey joins the bench. The loss of Hudson Young to a season-ending Achilles injury sees Zac Hosking slide to second row and Morgan Smithies line up at lock.
Wests Tigers: A day of drama for the Tigers on Thursday with Adam Doueihi ruling himself out of the match after a run-in with coach Benji Marshall at training. Jock Madden suffered an injury at training and the Tigers were granted an exemption from the NRL to bring Heath Mason onto the six-man bench. Young gun Javon Andrews will make his NRL debut at halfback in Doueihi’s absence. All this on top of Latu Fainu being found guilty of a Grade 3 Dangerous Contact charge at the judiciary on Tuesday night and copping a three-game ban. Patrick Herbert returns from a shoulder injury in the centres while Sunia Turuva moves from wing to centre. Junior Tupou and Faaletino Tavana are the new wingers.

Bulldogs: No changes to the 1-19 in the 24-hour update. Coach Cameron Ciraldo confirmed on Friday morning that skipper Stephen Crichton is good to go after being rested last week following his injury scare in Round 19. Sean O’Sullivan moves to the bench after his starring role in Crichton’s absence against Wests Tigers. Star back-rower Viliame Kikau returns to the starting side after coming back from injury via the bench last week so Josh Curran moves to the interchange.
Warriors: A switch to the bench in the 24-hour update, with Charnze Nicoll-Klostad coming in for Marata Niukore. Earlier, there were no changes to the starting side after the win over the Dragons last week. Marata Niukore was added to the six-man bench in place of Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who wasn’t used in last week’s match.

Cowboys: A big blow for the Cowboys with Tom Dearden ruled out due to an ankle injury. The Cowboys are yet to confirm his replacement, but Jaxon Purdue is likely to shift back to the halves. Liam Sutton looms as the other option to step into the halves. Jake Clifford was initially named at five-eighth but will likely step into the primary playmaking role at halfback. Prop Tom Mikaele’s return after missing a week due to concussion sees Griffin Neame slide to the bench.
Broncos: Hooker Billy Walters is primed for his first NRL game since suffering an ACL injury against the Raiders in last year’s finals series. Walters has played three Qld Cup games with Souths Logan to build his fitness. Xavier Willison moves from prop to second row to cover for Brendan Piakura (concussion). Preston Riki returns to the starting front row after coming off the bench last week.

Dragons: In his first game as fully minted head coach, Dean Young goes with the same 19 that put up a strong fight against the Warriors before going down 20-12. Fullback Clint Gutherson will play his 250th NRL game.
Titans: Jaylan De Groot comes into the centres in place of AJ Brimson, who suffered a Category 1 head knock against the Sea Eagles. Bench forward Kurt Morrin returns from a leg injury so Michael Molo drops to the reserves.

Sea Eagles: Lehi Hopoate takes over at fullback from Tom Trbojevic (hamstring). Tolu Koula goes to the wing and Josh Feledy is the new centre. Back-rower Ben Trbojevic is back from a concussion so Ethan Bullemor slides to the bench. Hooker Nic Lenaz has been named in the No.14 as he chases his first game as a Sea Eagle and second career game after debuting with the Cowboys last year. • The Sea Eagles are chasing their 1000th win since 1947 and their 500th victory at 4 Pines Park.
Sharks: Star prop prop Addin Fonua-Blake left the field twice last week with a pectoral issue but he looks to be right to go for Sunday. Jesse Ramien (illness), Siosifa Talakai (elbow) and Jesse Colquhoun (knee) are all back on deck for the trip to Brookie in a big boost for the Sharks.
