Artists spend grey Saturday painting en plein air in South Surrey

Artists gathered to paint en plein air, or in the open air, in White Rock and South Surrey Saturday for Semiahmoo Arts Society’s Paint the Town event.
The 11th annual event for SAS, the society celebrates it an all-ages, all-abilities celebration of art.
Event tents were set up at White Rock’s waterfront Memorial Plaza and in Ocean Park.
Following the event, participating artists have the option of keeping their work, or submitting it to the Paint the Town Exhibition.
The July 27 to Oct 4 juried exhibition, at the Turnbull Gallery (South Surrey Arts and Recreation Centre, 14601 20 Ave.), will be also be open to community online voting, and selected works will be eligible to be included in the Paint the Town auction on Oct. 2.
