It’s July 28, and the Honor Imaging Technology Launch Event is live, where the company has revealed the top-notch camera details and imaging specs of the ROBOT PHONE. Ahead of the official debut, the OEM is sharing key highlights of the device.
Honor held the Imaging Technology event where it unveiled the camera specs and new imaging chip details of the ROBOT PHONE. The company confirmed a 200MP primary sensor with a 1/1.28-inch format and an f/1.6 aperture.
This imaging lens is integrated into the three-axis gimbal setup of the phone to provide sharper, crisper, and brighter images. On the camera bump reside the two complementary lenses – a 50MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 200MP periscope telephoto.

While most of these specs were already in the light, the tech giant confirmed a new imaging chip for the incredible handset – Yuguang H1. Honor has linked this SoC with the gimbal motor, which weighs just 2.6 grams.
Per the official information, the new gimbal motor is 65% smaller than other motors on the market. Besides, Honor’s motor component has 35% higher torque density than traditional motors. Thus, it offers smoother movement at all angles.
Not only hardware, but software also plays a significant role in the ROBOT PHONE’s camera performance. Honor has used a real-time image processing system to control white balance, exposure, tone control, glare reduction, and detail enhancement.

AiMAGE 2.0 is also part of the Honor ROBOT PHONE, and it ensures a steady as well as clean shot irrespective of the user’s condition – still or moving. Honor + ARRI collaboration has brought Log-C video encoding and LUT color grading files.
LUT (Look-Up Table) is a mathematical formula that takes specific input color values from your video or photo and maps them to new output values. It is more like a high-powered, precise color filter that changes raw shades into a ready-to-see image.
Both LUT and Log-C video encoding unlock a cinema-like video recording. The ROBOT PHONE is still under wraps and will debut on August 12. Stay tuned.
