Witney Carson has some thoughts about her Dancing with the Stars partner deciding to go shirtless during the Sept. 30 episode of the show
In an interview after the fact, she said that she was nervous about how women would respond, since they are already slipping in her DMs trying to get closer to Irwin
“I had so many moments of regret. I was like, ‘Did I make the right choice taking his shirt off?'” she admitted
Robert Irwin stole the show when he ripped his shirt off during the latest episode of Dancing with the Stars. However, it turns out that his partner might have had some concerns about the decision.
The 21-year-old son of Steve Irwin is competing with Witney Carson during the 34th season of the reality show. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, the pair took the stage for the third episode, which was dedicated to songs made popular by TikTok.
For TikTok Night, Irwin and Carson danced a Salsa to “Million Dollar Baby” by Tommy Richman. It earned them a score of 22/30, and notably went viral when the competitor bared his abs and overall chiseled physique for the audience.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight after the episode ended, Carson admitted that she had some concerns about how the shirtless moment would be received. Notably, she seemed mostly worried about how Irwin’s female fanbase would react, and if it would make them too thirsty.
“I had so many moments of regret. I was like, ‘Did I make the right choice taking his shirt off?'” she jokingly said during the interview, urging girls in her DM to “take it down a little” because “I can only take so much.”
Carson previously alluded to the onslaught of DMs that she’s received from Irwin’s dedicated fans.
“Girls, I love ya, thank you for the applications through somehow my email and flooding the DMs,” the dancing pro wrote in a Saturday, Sept. 27. post on her Instagram Stories.

She continued, adding, “If I could line you all up with Robert, I would because you’re all 10/10 perfect cuties.”
“We are currently dancing our lives away so we are unable to respond,” Carson said, adding, “Robert for The Bachelor?! Idk this is too stressful for me to handle lol!”
On TikTok over the weekend, Carson also joked about going through the DMs that Irwin is getting on his own phone. In a clip, they walked into the studio before sitting down, at which point Carson demanded that her partner hand over his phone.
“What else are big sisters for?” she captioned the silly video.

Has Irwin seen any of the messages from his hopeful suitors who are reaching out to Carson just yet?
“I am banking them for when the time is right, after the season. Because we cannot be distracted. He thinks he would be fine, but he cannot,” the 31-year-old pro dancer, who is married to Carson McAllister, told ET.
Meanwhile, Irwin described the attention as “really flattering,” adding, “It makes me get very red, and I get very awkward.”
Asked about baring his ripped body on live TV, he said, “It’s so funny, but that’s what I wanted. Onstage, I was like, ‘You know what? I wanna show this new side. I wanna own this. I wanna give it that bit of omph.’ And it was so much fun doing it, you know, mate?”
“I’ve never gotten to do that. I’ve never gotten to be like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna be cool. I’m just gonna come and rock this.’ It was fun,” he continued, adding that his family was in the audience but were not totally aware of what to expect.
Irwin is no stranger to stripping down after doing just that for an April underwear campaign for Australian brand Bonds.

“This was way more nerve-racking because for the underwear campaign, I had Australian wildlife to keep me company,” he joked, alluding to the fact that he posed alongside massive snakes and venomous spiders. “Here, I was just like… a fish out of water.”
Carson jokingly chimed in, adding, “You just had me, and I was like, ‘Be perfect!’ “
At the moment, Irwin is single. In September, he told PEOPLE that he was inspired by his parents, Steve and Terri.
“So I look at my mom, I look at my dad and I’m like, that’s it. That’s who I want to be. That’s a perfect relationship,” he said.
