Last month it was revealed the singer’s 9-year-old son, Bear, was the sole beneficiary of his father’s $48 million fortune.
Bear’s mother, singer Cheryl Tweedy, and lawyer Richard Bray were named as administrators last year, meaning they were able to collect and preserve Payne’s assets.
Newly released probate documents from Britain’s High Court reveal parts of the estate can now be spent to help Bear, and the rest will be placed in a trust until he turns 18, The Sun reported.
Payne’s assets are valued at £21.9m ($48m), which includes a five-bedroom home he had bought in 2021 to be closer to his son after his split from Tweedy.
Anyone wishing to make a claim against the estate has six months to do so under probate rules.
Bear was born in March 2017, a few months before his parents separated in July 2018.
Payne had been living with Cassidy before his death but she is not entitled to any money.
The Sun reports that sources close to Cassidy said she did not intend to make a claim against his estate.
Cassidy had previously defended her relationship with Payne and denied she was after any of his money.
“When people come and point a finger at me saying, ‘You took an allowance and you had living expenses’, or whatever, at the end of the day it’s nobody’s business except for me and Liam,” she told The Sun last year.
“I never [asked him for money]. Yeah, it’s upsetting but it’s just about having thick skin and I’m never going to let anybody tell me how my relationship was with Liam.”
