Three gang members have been arrested in Marton overnight after a vehicle stop.

One man had a loaded sawn-off shotgun and pistol concealed down his pants and ammunition in his sock.

The police stopped the vehicle on Cuba St at about 2am on Friday, and conducted a search after a
machete was spotted in the passenger seat footwell.

A glass pipe and knives were also found in the vehicle.

The occupants, aged 28, 36 and 40, were due to appear in Whanganui District Court today.
