Seven months on from her divorce with Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman is opening up about the reality of raising a family while working in Hollywood.

The actress, 59, is currently starring in the TV series Lioness, which filmed on location in Texas. Kidman raises her daughters Sunday, 18, and 15-year-old Faith at their family home in Nashville, Tennessee.

Speaking to Extra, Kidman admitted that instead of spending time with cast and crew, she would fly home at any opportunity to be with her girls.

“I go home to my family. I’ve got one child in junior year and one who’s a freshman. So, I was like, ‘Okay, I got to be there taking care,’ you know? Multitasking, right?” she said.

Her comments came after her co-star Zoe Saldana said the cast had become “family” and would do everything together – from going to concerts and horse riding to spending Thanksgiving as a unit.

“Nicole would [have joined us] if she was there, but as soon as Nicole finishes, she flies home to her family,” Saldana said.

“And it’s so beautiful to see, too.”

Originally, Kidman was only supposed to be an executive producer on the project, but agreed on a supporting role so she could travel home to be with her daughters on days off.

Kidman and Urban made headlines in September 2025 when they split after almost 20 years of marriage

A day after news of their separation broke, the Big Little Lies star filed for divorce from the country singer, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

In January the former couple finalised their divorce.

A parenting plan for their daughters has also been put in place, with Kidman’s home remaining the primary residence for Sunday and Faith, and the Holland star having custody of the girls for 306 days a year.

The country music star was granted 59 days out of the year, with their daughters allowed to spend every other weekend with him.

Kidman and Urban are both required to “behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced”.

“They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent,” the agreement states.

Despite their marriage breakdown dominating headlines throughout the end of 2025, Kidman and Urban both been trying to continue life as normal, honouring their work commitments and supporting their girls.

Kidman hit headlines for another reason earlier this month, after she was spotted was spotted with American businessman Michael Reinstein, 55, at a hotel in Italy, sparking rumours of a romance.

Neither have spoken out about the speculation.
