Since her debut in 2014, Zara Larsson has been in and out of the spotlight. But this past summer, with a huge boost from her album “Midnight Sun,” she’s made it back into the mainstream.
Larsson said her Lollapalooza turnout was the “biggest crowd in the U.S.” that she has ever performed for.
Originally, Lil Uzi Vert was set to perform on the T-Mobile stage when Larsson did, but she got pushed to their slot when they canceled their performance.
As a result, many Lil Uzi Vert fans found themselves at Larsson’s set unexpectedly and tried to exit during the set. Regardless, Larsson’s fanbase took up the majority of the crowd.
She started her set with the energetic hit “Midnight Sun,” with a chorus that the crowd happily sang along to.
For her song “Pretty Ugly,” she made the crowd chant: “I’m so pretty. I can get ugly. I’m so ugly, that’s what makes me pretty.”
Then she asked, “Who wants to dance with me?” A question that diehard fans know means “Lush Life” is about to play.
As a tour tradition, Larsson started pulling lucky audience members onto the stage with her to do the choreography for “Lush Life.” Some fans anticipated this would happen, with one holding up a sign saying “DRAG ME ON STAGE.”
“I love to bring someone on stage with me,” Larsson said. “This is my favorite part in the whole show. Are you ready to slay?”
Larsson also made sure to show appreciation for her band and backup dancers, an all-woman group that delivered in every department.

“It’s been nine years since I was here for the first time, and a lot of things have changed, and ‘Lush Life’ is one,” Larsson said. “It’s so crazy what’s happening to me in my life just these past couple months … It’s a testament for never giving up. Just keep going.”
To end her set, Larsson said to “Be nice to each other, and have the best summer ever,” before performing a slowed-down version of “Midnight Sun” one more time.
