Zendaya and Tom Holland are once again clearing the cobwebs of our hearts.

In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes posted July 30, Zendaya praised Holland, her husband, while sharing her “favorite part” about his version of iconic superhero Spider-Man. The pair, who both star in the latest film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” have been promoting the Marvel movie, which is currently in theaters.

“My favorite thing about Tom’s Spider-Man is how Tom handles Spider-Man outside of ‘Spider-Man,’” said Zendaya, who plays the snarky MJ Watson, Spidey’s love interest in the Marvel franchise. “So many people connect to this character, to Peter Parker’s Spider-Man, and especially young people, especially children, and I think that he’s just handled that weight with such grace.”

Holland is one of three main live-action actors in history to play the role on film, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield being the two others. He first appeared as Spidey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War.” The next year, he headlined “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

While Zendaya entered the franchise as MJ during Holland’s first solo feature film, her character didn’t become the superhero’s love interest until the sequel, “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” which was released in July 2019.

In the Rotten Tomatoes interview, Zendaya added that Holland “really loves and cares so much about the character and what the character means to other people.”

She explained that the role comes with the responsibility of knowing, “when you are in front of these kids, you are Spider-Man.”

“You are this person to them,” she said, turning to a clearly bashful Holland. “I just love seeing what and how you carry Spider-Man through your life in real life.”

The Marvel franchise holds a special significance for the couple. They met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016. And while rumors swirled for some time that they had been seeing one another, the two finally went public in September 2021 when Holland shared a post in celebration of Zendaya’s birthday.

“My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays. Gimme a call when your up xxx” he wrote.

The two were suspected to have gotten married sometime in 2025 or early 2026. And Holland finally confirmed their marriage to Esquire in a June interview.

“For me, I found my person,” he told the outlet. “She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her, but I have also never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”

Earlier this summer, the pair were both featured in the Christopher Nolan blockbuster film “The Odyssey,” with Holland playing titular character Odysseus’ son Telemachus, and Zendaya portraying the goddess Athena.
