The singer and Fenty Beauty founder, who last attended the celebrations in 2024, joined her brother Rorrey Fenty’s band, Aura, for the annual parade, which marks the end of the island’s sugar cane harvest festival.
Her eye-catching outfit was designed by Barbadian designer Lauren Austin, a long-time collaborator who has created many of Rihanna’s Crop Over looks since 2013.
The colourful ensemble featured a jewel-encrusted body harness adorned with multicoloured gemstones and tassels, along with an elaborate headpiece and a dramatic feathered bustle.
Photos and videos shared on social media showed Rihanna dancing through the streets, waving to fans and celebrating alongside fellow revellers during one of Barbados’ biggest annual events.
Crop Over dates back to the 1700s and has become one of the Caribbean’s most famous festivals.
Rihanna has long used the occasion to celebrate her Barbadian roots while showcasing the work of local designers.
Speaking to Vogue in 2017, Lauren Austin praised Rihanna’s fearless approach to fashion, saying: “She isn’t afraid to wear whatever she wants, when she wants.”
The appearance comes after a busy few weeks for the singer, who recently celebrated her son Riot’s third birthday with partner A$AP Rocky at a Spider-Man-themed party in Barbados.
The couple, who also share son RZA and daughter Rocki, have been spending time on the island following Rihanna’s surprise performance alongside Jay-Z in New York last month.
