It’s August 6th, and Honor has launched an Android 17-based MagicOS 11 closed beta program. The company has started recruiting some selected top-tier models for the new software testing activity and will expand it to a wider phase in the coming months.
A week before, Honor announced to hold a MagicOS 11 Pioneer Event. While the details were unclear regarding what exactly the event would bring, the new software iteration was going to be the key focus.
Today, the Chinese phone maker has opened the MagicOS 11 Closed Beta Program for some flagship models. And you can join it to see what the new version is bringing.
Honor is recruiting 2000 users for each smartphone series. 1000 of this figure belongs to the log version, while the rest is for the no-log version. Users can enroll in this activity by August 11. Hereafter, the company will begin the review process.
Notably, Honor phone users can apply for the beta testing till August 11, but tablet owners can register till August 21st. The new version release time for phones and tablets will be August 18 and August 28, respectively.
Before jumping to the registration process, make sure that your Honor device is running on MagicOS 10.0.0.170. Now follow the instructions given below.
Open the My Honor app on your eligible device
Visit the Club page
Select the MagicOS 9.0 tab
Click on “Upgrade to try”
Choose the Beta Program project
One can also try visiting the Settings app and selecting System and Updates. Tap on the Software Update option and click on the top right corner of the screen. Hit the Upgrade and Trial banner and fill in your details accurately.
Being a beta build, the new version could lead to multiple issues like lagging, overheating, battery draining, app freezing, power consumption, and more. Hence, proceed at your own potential risk.
