First Friday

Boulder and Longmont will host several First Friday art and makers events this week. North Boulder’s NoBo Art District First Friday Art Walk runs from 6 to 9 p.m. along Broadway in north of town. The free event features open artist studios, rotating exhibits at the NoBo Art Center and Bus Stop Gallery, live music from Roots Music Project, food trucks and an art market at 4871 Broadway. Downtown Boulder’s First Friday Art Walk runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and takes place around Pearl Street and downtown galleries, beginning at The New Local at 713 Pearl St. The event features gallery receptions, maker demonstrations, drinks and live music. In Longmont, the First Friday Makers Market takes over 4th Avenue between Main and Coffman streets from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. The free, family- and dog-friendly open-air market, centered near the Firehouse Art Center, 667 4th Ave., Longmont, features local artisans selling handmade jewelry, fine art and crafts, along with live music, street games, children’s face painting, food trucks and local beverages.

CU Earth Sciences exhibition: The Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences & Map Library, 2200 Colorado Ave., Boulder. “Campus Life — 150 Years” explores 150 years of relationships between humans and wildlife at CU Boulder through historical maps, photographs, watercolors and modern cartography.
