Staff member confronts man
After a few minutes, he gets out of that car and walks towards the road. The petrol station staff member approaches him while holding an object behind his back.

A 49-year-old man faces 17 charges, including attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assaulting people with a vehicle in relation to Wednesday’s incidents.

Yesterday, defence lawyer Jane-Frances O’Halloran told Judge Grant Fraser that she hadn’t yet been able to take instructions from her client, who remained at Auckland City Hospital.
Judge Fraser ordered the defendant be remanded in custody, if he recovers enough before a Monday hearing to be released from hospital.
