Huawei is seemingly working on a wide, non-foldable phone that may debut by the end of this year in the Pura X series. While the device’s identity and name remain a big mystery, a new piece of information sheds light on this matter.
Weibo tipster @SuperDimensional reported that the upcoming wide and non-foldable Huawei phone may not belong to the mid-range Nova family but the Pura X series.
An early leak said that Huawei’s first wide, regular smartphone creation could launch in the Pura series. Though the details were quite unclear at that time.
Later, a tipster pointed out that the Chinese OEM will unveil its first wide, non-folding phone in the flagship series like Mate or Pura, and not the Nova lineup.
In addition, the leak suggested that this wide, flat-screen smartphone could follow the flagship Pura X screen size – 6.39-inch LTPO OLED with a resolution of 1.5 or 2K, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The details align well with the current input.
The tipster further added that the new device will bring significant specs to the table. It will be a premium-grade handset with a powerful chip, durable battery, and greater internal parts. But at the same time, it may also be high in terms of price.
It is unclear how much the device could cost in the market, though an attached leak says it may start at 7000 yuan, just like the Pura X wide-fold smartphone.
