Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi recently took part in a Q&A series with Gentleman’s Journal, where he was featured for his work as head of interior design and property development firm Banda Property. During the rare interview, Princess Beatrice’s husband made shared some candid comments about family life with the men’s lifestyle publication.
Asked about his biggest luxury, Mapelli Mozzi replied, “experiences, travel and time with family.” He gave a similar answer when asked how he relaxes, citing “time with family and friends.” He also described his ideal holiday as “getting off the beaten track, disconnecting from emails and news, and spending time with my family.” When asked who he admires most in his career, Mapelli Mozzi pointed to his mother, saying “she inspired us and worked 24/7 to educate her kids.”
On the best gift he’d ever received, Mapelli Mozzi said, “My cufflinks from my father. I wear them and remember him.” (His biological father, Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, is still living. But Mapelli Mozzi’s stepfather, Christopher Shale, died in 2011.)
Mapelli Mozzi has led Banda Property, based in London, since 2007. “At Banda, we approach each home as a living narrative,” Mapelli Mozzi told T&C last year while sharing news of a townhouse project in Chelsea Barracks, a group of former British army buildings turned luxury development.

He and Princess Beatrice have kept a low profile over the past year as Beatrice’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, faced scrutiny following her father’s legal troubles. The couple were most recently seen publicly at the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling in June. Married since 2020, they share two daughters, Sienna, 4, and Athena, 2; Mapelli Mozzi also has a 10-year-old son, Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf, from a previous relationship. The family had reason to celebrate this week regardless: Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, welcomed her third daughter on Monday.
