It’s a visual feast of oddity — less blood and gore, more breast milk, amniotic fluid, alien jizz and electrical currents — juxtaposed against a beautifully mundane block of flats in an unnamed New Zealand suburb. The effects, deliberately low-fi, are effective in planting this film firmly in the sci-fi genre, as the power grid is challenged by what Boo may or may not be generating with his alien-ish abilities.
