NSW Police say remains in suitcase at Oallen not human

New South Wales Police say remains found in a suitcase in southern NSW are not human.

Authorities initially reported on Sunday afternoon that a body had been located in a suitcase at Oallen, about 60 kilometres south-east of Goulburn.

Commander of the Hume Police District, Superintendent Linda Bradbury, confirmed on Monday morning that forensic testing had confirmed the remains were not actually human.

“We don’t have a suspicious death of a human on our hands,” Superintendent Bradbury told the media.

Superintendent Bradbury said police did not yet know what the remains were.

“We are still undertaking more forensic work to identify what they are,” she said.
