Paddy Sowman, also known as Simon, 42, has been found dead after disappearing from a Wellington suburb in late July.

The body of a man who went missing from a Wellington suburb weeks ago has been found, police have confirmed.

Paddy Sowman, also known as Simon, was reported missing in late July, with a friend saying he went out the morning of the 25th and was not seen or heard
from since.

The 42-year-old had been staying with the friend in Ngaio when he disappeared.

Police today said they had conducted a search and, with the help of Land Search and Rescue volunteers, found a man’s body on Sunday afternoon.

“Family have been notified and formal identification procedures are underway,” police said.
