Madonna and Kylie Minogue have officially released their first studio collaboration, ‘Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)’, following its surprise live debut at Madonna’s Club Confessions event during WorldPride Amsterdam.

Madonna and Kylie Minogue have released ‘Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)’, bringing together two of pop’s most enduring dance music careers on a new version of Madonna’s ‘Love Sensation’ from the 2026 album Confessions II. The collaboration was unveiled live at AFAS Live in Amsterdam on August 1 during Madonna’s Club Confessions event, before being released globally on August 7.
The collaboration follows more than three decades of parallel careers in pop and dance music, with the pair having previously shared a stage but never before releasing an official studio recording together.
The Amsterdam performance was staged as a surprise, with Minogue joining Madonna during the Club Confessions set. The two performed the new version of ‘Love Sensation’, while also performing Madonna’s ‘Sorry’. The appearance was part of WorldPride celebrations in Amsterdam and marked the first public performance of the newly recorded collaboration.
The recording was produced by Stuart Price, the British producer and musician who has a long association with Madonna and worked extensively on the original Confessions on a Dance Floor era. Madonna’s official credits for Confessions II list Price as producer of the original ‘Love Sensation’, with the song written by Madonna and Price.
The new Minogue collaboration extends the dancefloor lineage established by Madonna’s 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor. Confessions II, released on July 3, 2026, is Madonna’s 15th studio album and continues that connection to electronic and club music. The album reached No. 1 in the UK, according to Official Charts.
Minogue’s involvement also follows a period of renewed commercial momentum for the Australian pop star. Her 2023 album Tension produced ‘Padam Padam’, while Tension II followed in 2024. The new collaboration places Minogue directly inside Madonna’s latest dance music project after she had previously dismissed speculation that she appeared on Confessions II.
Before the recording became public, Minogue had said that reports suggesting she was on Madonna’s new album were incorrect. She later expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of working with Madonna, having already established a personal connection on stage during the 2024 Celebration Tour.
That first major public pairing took place at Madonna’s Los Angeles concert in March 2024. The two performed Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’, alongside Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’. Madonna described performing with Minogue as a privilege and praised her as a fellow survivor and fighter.
For Minogue, the 2024 appearance represented a significant moment between two artists whose careers have frequently been discussed alongside one another, despite operating independently for most of their histories. At the time, Minogue said there had been no discussion about making a recording together, although she acknowledged that she would welcome the opportunity.
The Amsterdam performance changed that situation.
The resulting ‘Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)’ is built from Madonna’s existing Confessions II track rather than being an entirely new composition. The original album version runs for 3:48, while the new Afterhours Mix extends the song to almost six minutes. A Radio Edit has also been issued for shorter-format listening.
The release also follows a broader remix programme surrounding Confessions II. Madonna has issued an Afterhours Edition containing reworked versions of material from the album, including earlier remixes of ‘Love Sensation’ by salute and Floorplan. The Kylie Minogue version gives the album’s title track its most significant new vocal collaboration to date.
The partnership arrives at a point when both artists remain closely connected to contemporary club culture while drawing on decades of dance-pop history. Madonna’s Confessions II revisits the musical territory associated with her 2005 record, while Minogue continues the dance-pop trajectory that has defined much of her catalogue since the late 1980s.
The significance of ‘Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)’ therefore extends beyond the novelty of two major pop figures finally recording together. It connects two established catalogues through a single dance recording while allowing each artist to remain within a musical environment central to her career.
For Madonna, the collaboration adds another chapter to the Confessions II campaign. For Minogue, it provides an official recording with an artist whose influence on dance-pop has been fundamental to the genre’s mainstream development.
‘Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)’ is now available on streaming services, with the Radio Edit issued alongside the extended version. Madonna’s Confessions II campaign is continuing, with further activity expected around the album, while Madonna is scheduled to take Club Confessions to Miami’s Factory Town in February 2027.
