Weibo tipster @SuperDimensional noted that the Huawei Mate 90 series will likely launch with a Privacy Display variant. The leak suggests that the OEM may use the new screen solution only for high-end models.
The tipster added that Privacy Display will eliminate the need for an extra screen protector on the Mate 90 series and ensure the next level of security for users.

But a new leak says Huawei will now introduce the Privacy Display technology for the Mate 90 series. If true, it would be the first flagship in the company to feature a hardware-integrated solution alongside software-based capabilities.
Samsung was the first brand to introduce a hardware-level privacy screen tech exclusively for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Though the problem appeared in terms of image quality, which used to drop by 50%.
After the South Korean firm, Huawei seems to be the second phone brand to adopt this technology for its flagship smartphone series as a fix to Samsung’s problem.
The company already has a software-level AI anti-peeping functionality that warns users when it detects people peeking into the screen. Now it is seemingly bringing a hardware-level tech for its smartphones.
