Local financial services firm Craigs Investment Partners and Australian investment bank Barrenjoey will be partners in New Zealand, it was confirmed today.

The two firms said they had agreed to establish long-term commercial arrangements, including ongoing equities research and trading services for Craigs’ wealth business.

The deal
will involve Craigs employees moving to Barrenjoey New Zealand across corporate finance, financial markets and support functions.

Craigs said the arrangement would allow it to focus on its private wealth clients while maintaining access to research, execution and investment opportunities.

Craigs corporate and institutional chief executive Justin Queale will join Barrenjoey New Zealand as executive chairman.
