Penrith Panthers vs. Sydney Roosters, 7.50pm @ CommBank Stadium
Panthers team: 1. Jaxen Edgar 2. Thomas Jenkins 3. Paul Alamoti 4. Izack Tago 5. Brian To’o 6. Jack Cogger 7. Nathan Cleary 8. Moses Leota 9. Freddy Lussick 10. Liam Henry 11. Isaiah Papali’i 12. Liam Martin 13. Lindsay Smith 14. Billy Scott 15. Scott Sorensen 16. Luron Patea 17. Billy Phillips 18. Jack Cole 19. Blaize Talagi 20. Dylan Edwards 21. Jesse McLean 22. Kalani Leuluai-going
Analysis: Only two changes for the Panthers this week, with Jack Cogger (personal reasons) slotting straight into the starting team for Jack Cole, who has been moved back to the interchange bench. Blaize Talagi also remains on the bench. Meanwhile, Lindsay Smith moves to lock with Isaah Yeo (pectoral) absent and Liam Henry moves to the starting front-row. In other team news, Jaxen Edgar has been named to retain the fullback spot but expect this to change in the coming days if Dylan Edwards (shoulder) is able to pass the mandatory fitness tests. If available, he will move from the reserves into the starting team.
Roosters team: 1. James Tedesco 2. Billy Smith 3. Hugo Savala 4. Robert Toia 5. Mark Nawaqanitawase 6. Daly Cherry-Evans 7. Sam Walker 8. Naufahu Whyte 9. Reece Robson 10. Spencer Leniu 11. Salesi Foketi 12. Siua Wong 13. Victor Radley 14. Connor Watson 15. Lindsay Collins 16. Nat Butcher 17. Egan Butcher 18. Cody Ramsey 19. Tommy Talau 20. Rex Bassingthwaighte 21. Benaiah Ioelu 22. Taylor Losalu
Analysis: The Roosters have only made one change for this week, but it is a massive boost for Thursday’s blockbuster as James Tedesco (concussion) returns to the fullback spot. His inclusion sees Cody Ramsey drop back to the extended six-man bench. Meanwhile, Trent Robinson has opted to start Spence Leniu in the starting front-row rather than Lindsay Collins, but this could change come game day.
FRIDAY AUGUST 14
Manly Sea Eagles vs. Dolphins, 6pm @ 4 Pines Park
Sea Eagles team: 1. Clayton Faulalo 2. Jason Saab 3. Tolutau Koula 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Lehi Hopoate 6. Joey Walsh 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Simione Laiafi 9. Brandon Wakeham 10. Nathan Brown 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Corey Waddell 13. Jake Trbojevic 14. Jake Simpkin 15. Nicholas Lenaz 16. Fletcher Baker 17. Jackson Shereb 18. Josh Feledy 19. Hugo Hart 20. Onitoni Large 21. Caleb Navale 22. Blake Wilson
Analysis: Clayton Faulalo (hamstring) has been named to make his long-awaited return after a stint on the sidelines with injury, but there is no Tom Trbojevic this week, who remains out. The inclusion of Faulalo will see Lehi Hopoate move back to the wing and Blake Wilson drop out. In the forwards, Nathan Brown will take Taniela Paseka’s (knee) spot in the starting line-up, while Hugo Hart is the new name on the six-man bench and is in line for a potential NRL debut.
Dolphins team: 1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 2. Jamayne Isaako 3. Jack Bostock 4. Herbie Farnworth 5. Selwyn Cobbo 6. Kodi Nikorima 7. Isaiya Katoa 8. Thomas Flegler 9. Jeremy Marshall-King 10. Francis Molo 11. Connelly Lemuelu 12. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki 13. Morgan Knowles 14. Max Plath 15. Ray Stone 16. Tom Gilbert 17. Felise Kaufusi 18. Brad Schneider 19. Jake Averillo 20. Sebastian Su’a 21. Tevita Naufahu 22. Brian Pouniu
Analysis: The Dolphins have confirmed that Kurt Donoghoe (thumb) will spend the next couple of weeks on the sidelines, but his void will be filled by Ray Stone (neck), who returns from injury. Jake Averillo (ribs) has also been listed on the interchange bench to make his return and will look to play for the first time since Round 19 after making his comeback through QLD Cup last weekend. This sees Brian Pouniu drop back to the reserves.
Canterbury Bulldogs vs. South Sydney Rabbitohs, 8pm @ Accor Stadium
Bulldogs team: 1. Connor Tracey 2. Jacob Kiraz 3. Matt Burton 4. Enari Tuala 5. Jethro Rinakama 6. Stephen Crichton 7. Lachlan Galvin 8. Max King 9. Bailey Hayward 10. Leo Thompson 11. Jonathan Sua
Analysis: Only one change for Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo with back-rower Sitili Tupouniua (hamstring) picking up an injury last weekend. In what is potentially a season-ending injury, Tupouniua has found himself replaced in the side by rookie Alekolasami Jones who hasn’t played an NRL match since Round 16.
Rabbitohs team: 1. Matthew Dufty 2. Alex Johnston 3. Tallis Duncan 4. Jack Wighton 5. Campbell Graham 6. Cody Walker 7. Jayden Sullivan 8. Tevita Tatola 9. Brandon Smith 10. Keaon Koloamatangi 11. David Fifita 12. Adam Elliott 13. Cameron Murray 14. Jye Gray 15. Lachlan Hubner 16. Sean Keppie 17. Euan Aitken 18. Peter Mamouzelos 19. Edward Kosi 20. Jonah Glover 21. Liam Le Blanc 22. John Radel
Analysis: The Rabbitohs may have lost their halfback Ashton Ward (hamstring) for the rest of the season in a blow to their finals chances. Jayden Sullivan will replace him in the starting halves this week, but they have received a massive addition with former Australian Kangaroos outside Campbell Graham (calf) making his return. Graham’s return sees Jye Gray move back to the interchange bench with Matt Dufty keeping the No.1 jersey. Jamie Humphreys is week-to-week with an ankle concern, while Euan Aitken, Edward Kosi and out-of-favour hooker Peter Mamouzelos are the three new faces on the bench. Despite being seen training with the team on Tuesday, Latrell Mitchell remains sidelined.

Samuel Stonestreet 22. Tuku Hau Tapuha
Analysis: Oregon Kaufusi has been named in the starting side after Addin Fonua-Blake accepted a one-game ban for a careless high tackle. In the backline, Jesse Ramien is sidelined due to a pectoral injury suffered against the Dragons which sees KL Iro return from a concussion and fill his vacant spot. Siosifa Talakai has been named on the bench, having spent time on the sidelines battling a biceps injury.
Raiders team: 1. Kaeo Weekes 2. Jed Stuart 3. Savelio Tamale 4. Matthew Timoko 5. Xavier Savage 6. Ethan Strange 7. Ethan Sanders 8. Ata Mariota 9. Owen Pattie 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Zac Hosking 12. Analysis: Ricky Stuart has swung the axe, dropping experienced middle forward Corey Horsburgh. The decision comes after the one-game Queensland Origin representative was sent to the sin bin after slapping Knights centre Dane Gagai in Round 23. In his post-match press conference, Stuart labelled the moment a “fuc**** brain explosion” and said the costly mistake was the reason behind his side’s loss, trailing by four points with 10 minutes left in the contest. The defeat also virtually ended any hopes of the raiders making the finals, and Stuart revealed what he said to Horsburgh after the game. “We lost the start of the season because we were self-entitled and undisciplined and we lost the opportunity to still then continue and try to make the semis,” Stuart said. “That’s exactly what I said to him after the game. “It wasn’t everybody’s fault. There’s 16 other blokes there that made a lot of massive effort. “There’s one shi* bloody decision choice (that) has cost us.” Horsburgh is currently under contract at the Raiders until the end of the 2027 season, but the Raiders are reportedly willing to let him leave — and the Bears have kicked off talks to recruit him according to Code Sports, given his relationship with Stuart has reached boiling point.
Parramatta Eels vs. North Queensland Cowboys, 5.30pm @ CommBank Stadium
Eels team: 1. Apa Twidle 2. Brian Kelly 3. Viliami Penisini 4. Jordan Samrani 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Ronald Volkman 7. Mitchell Moses 8. Luca Moretti 9. Tallyn Da Silva 10. Junior Paulo 11. Jack Williams 12. Kitione Kautoga 13. Jack de Belin 14. Dylan Walker 15. Saxon Pryke 16. Teancum Brown 17. Jezaiah Funa-Luta 18. Toni Mataele 19. Sean Russell 20. Kelma Tuilagi 21. Harrison Edwards 22. Ryley Smith
Analysis: After spending a week on the sidelines, Dylan Walker has returned on the bench alongside Sean Russell, who is eyeing a return from a quad injury. Ryley Smith has dropped back to the extended bench with Tallyn Da Silva named at hooker. Apa Twidle is the man to take over at fullback after Isaiah Iongi suffered what looks to be a season-ending knee injury.
Cowboys team: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Braidon Burns 3. Zac Laybutt 4. Tomas Chester 5. Murray Taulagi 6. Jake Clifford 7. Jaxon Purdue 8. Griffin Neame 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Jason Taumalolo 11. Broncos team: 1. Reece Walsh 2. Josiah Karapani 3. Kotoni Staggs 4. Deine Mariner 5. Grant Anderson 6. Ezra Mam 7. Thomas Duffy 8. Xavier Willison 9. Billy Walters 10. Payne Haas 11. Jaiyden Hunt 12. Jordan Riki 13. Patrick Carrigan 14. Ben Hunt 15. Aublix Tawha 16. Jack Gosiewski 17. Va’a Semu 18. Blake Mozer 19. Ben Talty 20. Gehamat Shibasaki 21. Jesse Arthars 22. Hayze Perham
Analysis: Skipper Adam Reynolds (concussion) remains absent for a second straight week, which means rookie Thomas Duffy will remain in the No.7 jersey alongside Ezra Mam in the halves. Coach Michael Maguire has opted to make no changes to his starting side, but has recalled Aublix Tawha back to the six-man bench for his first appearance in nearly two months with incumbent Kangaroos centre Gehamat Shibasaki dropping back to the reserves.
Warriors team: 1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 3. Ali Leiataua 4. Leka Halasima 5. Alofiana Khan-Pereira 6. Chanel Harris-Tavita 7. Luke Metcalf 8. James Fisher-Harris 9. Adam Pompey 21. Morgan Gannon 22. Luke Hanson 23. Makaia Tafua
Analysis: Following their sensational victory against the Penrith Panthers, Warriors coach Andrew Webster has decided to make a single change for this week’s match. That is Demitric Vaimauga (rib) returning to the line-up after a stint on the sidelines. Vaimauga will take his respective spot on the six-man bench with Morgan Gannon making way.

Diesel Hagan 22. Toby Winter
Analysis: Two big inclusions for the Knights in Round 24. Phoenix Crossland slots straight back into the starting side at hooker and Bradman Best displaces Fletcher Hunt in the backline, with both players sidelined due to calf injuries. Hunt and Harrison Graham have retained their spots on the bench, while Pasami Saulo joins then on the pine in his return from a foot injury.

Charlie Murray
Analysis: Solomone Saukuru has been rewarded for his strong NSW Cup form, earning his NRL debut in place of young gun Heamasi Makasini. Saukuru is currently the top scorer in reserve grade, while Bunty Afoa and Faaletino Tavana have replaced Charlie Murray and Starford To’a on the bench. Josh Schuster is one step closer to a return to the NRL, named for the Tigers’ feeder club in the NSW Cup this weekend. Schuster’s last game at the top level was back in 2023 for Manly. He signed a NSW Cup ‘prove-it’ contract for the rest of this season with the goal to work his way into the club’s Top 30 list next year.
Dragons team: 1. Clinton Gutherson 2. Setu Tu 3. Moses Suli 4. Valentine Holmes 5. Tyrell Sloan 6. Lyhkan King-Togia 7. Kyle Flanagan 8. Loko Jnr Pasifiki Tonga 9. Damien Cook 10. Emre Guler 11. Despite suffering a back injury last week in the club’s win over the Sharks, Mat Feagai has been listed on the pine with Setu Tu named in the starting side. Despite not taking the field in Round 23, Damien Cook has been named to start at hooker with Jacob Liddle on the pine.
