Nebraska Rural Radio Association broadcasters received 18 awards Wednesday night at the 2026 Nebraska Broadcasters Association Pinnacle Awards, including the top station honor for country “94.1 The Brand” KNEB-FM Scottsbluff.
Team members from Lexington, Scottsbluff, West Point, Lincoln and York were recognized for work in news, sports, agricultural coverage, podcasting, advertising, community service and multiplatform storytelling.
KNEB-FM was named the 2026 Radio Station of the Year, earning the highest station honor presented during the awards ceremony.
The Nebraska Rural Radio Association received seven Gold awards. “Building Nebraska” from the Rural Radio Network won for Best Podcast, while country “93.1 The River” KRVN Grand Island-Kearney-Hastings received the Gold award for Best Newscast.
The Rural Radio Network also received a Gold award for Multiplatform Journalism for its report, “K&K Floral Blooms: A Growing Business.” KRVN and the Rural Radio Network were recognized for Service to Agriculture for the “FFA Husker Harvest Days Food Drive.”
KTIC in Omaha received Gold awards for Best Station Promotion for “More Meat Monday — Old MacDonald” and Service to Children for “9-Year-Old Cares for Hundreds of Animals.” KTMX/KAWL won Gold for Best Commercial for “Shirt Rubs & Sauces from Spring Creek Repair.”
“These awards are a reflection of what our broadcasters do every day: show up, earn the trust of their communities and tell the stories that matter,” Nebraska Rural Radio Association CEO Tim Marshall says in a news release. “Our team’s commitment to local news, agriculture, sports and community service is what sets the Nebraska Rural Radio Association apart. We are incredibly proud to see their work recognized among the best in Nebraska broadcasting.”
