Osman’s claim comes as auditions for the next James Bond reportedly get underway this month, according to online news site Deadline.
Osman’s podcast co-host, Marina Hyde, agreed, describing the 36-year-old actor as being at a “good age” to take on the role and saying he had “real Daniel Craig energy”.

Lowden is best known for playing MI5 agent River Cartwright in the acclaimed spy drama Slow Horses. He has also appeared in films including Dunkirk and is set to star as Mr Darcy in Netflix’s adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
He is one of several actors linked to the role as speculation continues over who will succeed Craig as 007.
Craig made his final appearance as the secret agent in 2021’s No Time to Die, bringing his five-film, 15-year tenure as Bond to an end.
Idris Elba, Callum Turner and Jacob Elordi are among the other actors previously mentioned as possible contenders.

The lengthy wait for a new Bond has partly coincided with a change in leadership for the franchise. Amazon MGM Studios gained creative control in 2025 after acquiring MGM three years earlier.
The next Bond film is set to be directed by Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writing the screenplay.
Producer Amy Pascal has said the team is taking a careful approach to finding Craig’s successor.
“We are being really, really methodical,” Pascal told Deadline. “Daniel Craig is a hard act to follow. And it’s got to be something that’s stirring, exciting and different.”
No casting decision has been announced, and neither Lowden nor the film’s producers has publicly responded to Osman’s claim.
