Bunga Raya Malaysian in New Lynn. Great seafood and the woman in charge is such a character.
The place to take a visitor?
A beach somewhere round Auckland, there are so many, both on the east coast and the west coast.
Best spot to finish a night out?
In bed. My clubbing days are over.
Best coffee?
Thomas’s Titirangi. You not only get coffee, you get the banter, the music and Thomas’ singing (great voice).
Favourite trail for a hike?
Mercer Bay Loop track, Piha. Crazy clifftop track overlooking the Tasman Sea. Great place to see the sunset.
Favourite fish and chip shop?
Soul Batter Titirangi.
Venue for a gig?
Double Whammy. Been a groupie for the band Park Rd at this venue many a time. My middle son Tom is Park Rd’s lead singer.
