Kangaroo joey, young bison become inseparable best friends at NJ zoo

A kangaroo joey and a young bison are now best friends at a New Jersey zoo. 

The critters reside at Six Flags Great Adventure, located in Jackson, a city that lies roughly halfway between New York City and Philadelphia. More specifically, they live within the 350-acre Wild Safari section of the park. 

According to zoo officials, Gertie the bison and Penny the kangaroo are now “inseparable” after meeting for the first time.  

Video shared by the amusement park shows Gertie enjoying some love from Penny. 

According to BBC Earth, animal relationships that humans may deem unlikely can arise from several circumstances, including a need for protection or simply because animals want to play.
