The memorial service at Swansea Minster has now finished and a hearse carrying her body in a coffin will drive to nearby Skewen.
A private ceremony will then take place in the village, where she was born in 1951.
The service earlier heard poignant and touching tributes from her live tour manager Matthew Davies and talent scout Roger Bell.
Welsh choir Only Men Aloud sang Bridge Over Troubled Water and Total Eclipse of the Heart and Mary Hopkin’s 1969 hit Those Were The Days was played.
About 1,000 fans gathered on the streets outside the church to watch her enter and leave, cheering and singing.

Bonnie died on 8 July at a hospital in Portugal, weeks after being admitted for emergency intestinal surgery, and was placed in an induced coma to aid her recovery.
After finding fame she was dubbed the “the female Rod Stewart” for her husky vocals, and went on to have enjoy worldwide success in a career spanning 50 years.
