TAUNTON, Mass. (WJAR) — A special car show was held in Taunton to raise mental health awareness on Sunday.

The event aimed to raise awareness for mental health through shared love of cars.
“Fast & Furious” star Luis Da Silva Jr., who plays Diogo in the movies, attended the event.
Da Silva said the cause is personal for him, as he lost his cousin after a battle with mental illness.
“I like to try to do these kind of events to kind of give back, build awareness and just try to make people happy. And what better than having a car community and a car culture where it implements, it doesn’t matter what language you speak at dinner, race, ethnicity, or how much money you have. It’s about putting smiles on people’s faces,” he said.
The proceeds went to the Casey Project to support suicide prevention efforts.
