If being banged up wasn’t bad enough, Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) time inside just got a whole lot worse.
As Coronation Street viewers know, in April, she whacked Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) over the head with some scaffolding, which resulted in him falling to his death. She then contacted Gary Windass (Mikey North), who helped to dispose of the weapon and kept quiet about the crime for months.
Sarah was finally arrested and then charged with murder. While her copper boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) was more frustrated by the fact she’d confided in Gary rather than him.
Fearing for her safety on the inside, and also for the security of his job, Sarah decided to end things last week. This has left Kit utterly devastated, and his struggle to care for her son Harry (Joshua Leavy) even worse.
In today’s (17 August) episode, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) arrived back in Weatherfield following his holiday in Thailand, and was soon handed a visiting order from Sarah. The two haven’t seen eye-to-eye for months, ever since she revealed that she was Theo’s killer.

Todd wasn’t sad about his abusive husband’s death, but was frustrated that she’d destroyed all chances of him ever facing justice.
During his visit, Todd reassured his former best pal that she still meant a lot to him, and that despite everything, he will always love her.
Sarah then admitted that she ended things with Kit because she wanted to safeguard his career.
Later, in her cell, confidante Kacey (Emma Matthews) broke down in tears and explained that her son has been arrested for armed robbery. Sarah tried to be a voice of reason and offer support, but it became clear that Kacey wanted more out of their friendship in exchange for protection inside.
Desperate for help, she pleaded with Sarah to contact Kit and ask him to intervene. Sarah asserted that she and Kit were no longer together, and as a result, there was very little she could do.
Unsurprisingly, Kacey responded by threatening Sarah.
Fearing for her future, Sarah phoned Todd from prison and told him about the unfolding incident. Todd encouraged her to approach Kit for help, warning that if she refused, he would contact him on her behalf.
What will Sarah do, and will she be safe?
