Best restaurant for dinner with friends?
I don’t go there often, but every time I’ve gone to Coco’s Cantina with my friends, I’ve laughed so hard I peed a little. I think that means it’s my favourite place to dine with friends? I don’t make the rules. My bladder does.
The place to take a visitor?
I love taking visitors to Cazador for dinner (sorry, if you don’t eat meat … this one’s not for you).
Best spot to finish a night out?
My house (location unspecified). I will make you liquorice tea and force dark chocolate upon you. Once the mood is set, I’ll hold your hand, you’ll tell me all your deep, dark secrets, and we’ll giggle.
Best coffee?
I love getting a “fat black” from Little Bird Café. If you know, you know. When I want to treat myself, I usually end up there with a coffee and one of their deliciously dangerous cheesecakes (it needs chocolate in it, just so we’re clear).
Favourite trail for a hike?
Give me the Karamatura Falls hike any day.
Favourite fish and chip shop?
I am severely allergic to everything in a fish and chip shop. I cannot guide you in the right direction.
Venue for a gig?
I’ve never not enjoyed going to The Powerstation. I had the pleasure of performing there once with Auckland’s best metal band, Demons of Noon (check ‘em out). It was, excuse my French, sick.
Best place to find a bargain?
Hard to Find Books. If you’re like me and love strange books that are hard to find (sorry, I had to), you’ll find diamonds here.
